You'll visit the namaki stones, whose formation is unique to central and north Malekula, and learn about the stone ceremonies that required years of preparation involving pigs and yams. The site itself holds visible remnants of the past: cooking areas where human bones remain, dug-out forts where warriors once sheltered to defend their villages, and a sanctuary where skulls were placed beneath stones at the chiefs' praying site. This part of the trek culminates at the chiefs' burial ground, marked by skulls and conch shells.<br><br></div><div>After the site visit, you head into the village of Lotpo for lunch, where you'll meet the family of Romunick Malessy, who will prepare the food and show you their home.
