Along the way, they'll share how each plant is used, from food and medicine to weaving and cooking tools. It is a genuinely engaging walk through a fully self-sustaining community.<br><br></div><div>Arriving at the village, the children take centre stage with a demonstration of traditional games, full of energy and enthusiasm. From there, the food demonstration gives you a taste of local kastom cooking. The menu changes depending on what is available on the day, keeping each visit feeling fresh and authentic. On our visit, we tried local spinach wrapped with manioc and coconut cream, and watched as the leftover coconut was fed to the animals roaming the village.<br><br></div><div>The kastom dancing that follows is a highlight. A large group performs beneath a banyan tree, and you are warmly encouraged to join in. Men dance with men, women with women, and the children are right in the middle of it all.
