Guests coming from the eastern side of the island are brought to the office first, where your guide runs through everything you need to know, the swimming requirements, what to expect from the tide, and how cave entry works on the day.<br><br></div><div>From the office, we head to the boat landing site and set off on an approximately 30 to 40-minute boat journey along Tanna's coastline to reach the Blue Cave. Travel time can vary a little depending on sea conditions and weather, but the ride itself is a great way to take in the rugged scenery of Tanna's north-west coast.<br><br></div><div>On arrival, you'll enter the water and swim toward the cave entrance. How you get inside depends on the tide. At high tide, you may need to briefly dive or swim underwater beneath the rock entrance before surfacing inside. At low tide, you can generally swim or snorkel through without needing to dive at all. Your guide will explain exactly what to expect before you enter, and snorkelling gear and life jackets are provided.<br><br></div><div>Once inside, the time is yours to swim, snorkel, relax and take photos. The amount of time spent at the cave is flexible and can be adjusted based on what you'd like to do.
